This summer, the main focus was working at Skydive Spaceland. I was determined to do as many work jumps there as possible. Somehow between free miles and super cheap tickets I managed to get in 3 quick trips back home to San Diego. Each trip was grounding and centering, seeing friends and going to my favorite places.

SD trip 1 was for my birthday in May. My best friend Amy picked me up at the airport- returning to her home she had balloons, cupcakes and champagne ready to POP. She continued to surprise me each day I was there. On my birthday we met my other SD best friends for beach yoga and then dinner. I also fit in runs through my favorite places. My sister and parents had been so kind to send the most thoughtful presents which I treasured opening on my birthday. THANK YOU Carly, Amy, Mom, Dad, Katie & Char. Forever grateful for these most important people in my life.
SD trip 2 was over 4th of July. The main point was for doctor visits but of course we managed to fit in fun too ;) I had a night out with favorite skydiver friends- at 1 am deciding we of course had to go jump the next day. I didn't bring any of my gear but they convinced me it'd all work out. My original AFF instructor Matt Days lent me his rig and helmet, Maria bringing me shoes. We did a 4 way jump and it felt SO good to be back where I learned. THANK YOU Maria, Nadine, Alex and Matt. MORE soon please.

SD trip 3 was again based on appointments in September but I fit in my favorite things too. After my friend Katie's wedding in Sedona, AZ, I drove back with Amy and her bf for a couple days in SD. One week later I was starting a second job in Houston (much more on that later) so took the time for myself to relax with beach runs, beach yoga and swimming. A spin class, food from my favorite places and an ending dinner with Amy and Char made it a rejuvenating weekend.
I treasure the night beach talk I had with Amy the last evening before dinner. We talked about the importance of always fighting the hardest for our dreams, making those dreams the biggest they can be, and saying F it to anything/anyone getting in the way. She is a friend that has kept me balanced these 2 years of adventuring (& always) and has believed in me no matter what.
Someone once gave me a special anchor bracelet, telling me to anchor myself wherever I live for any length of time. Being home in San Diego each time made me realize just how good I've gotten at doing this. San Diego will always feel like a home but I have learned how to ground myself no matter where I'm living. It's DEFINITELY not always easy being far from best friends and total comfort- but if we know what anchors us, the adventuring and dream seeking away from home is possible. Being back each time made me realize how far I've come since leaving & how I want to keep pushing these goals.

P.S. I originally planned to just be gone from SD 3 months on this adventure. After almost 2 years of leaving SD, that storage of mine unit is still sitting there. Next trip, who is in for helping me clear that out?! ;)
